Lightweight papers
Papers in this group fold, wrinkle and tear easily. They are often somewhat translucent e.g. copy paper, newsprint and origami paper.
Medium-weight papers
These can be folded repeatedly and are opaque. A sheet of this paper will not tear easily if a hole is cut in it.
Heavy weight papers
Hold up well to paint and gesso repeated erasures e.g. printmaking paper
Mock ups
Creating a mock up of your book using scratch paper is ok. You can number pages, with any text you have write in it. You can then analyse section breaks. A mock up can help establish the best format of a book.
Printing
Printing or copying text or images onto paper may be done by letterpress, computer, rubber stamps, hand writing, or by using cut-up techniques. For example Letterpress printing is a relief-printing process that presses wood or metal type into the page; computer generated type sits on the surface of the paper etc.
