Which colour do you think represents humour?
Yellow or red
Do you think the cut out method works well to communicate the concept?
Yes, could it be laser cut instead of hand cut?
Do you agree that stitch binding isn't appropriate of the concept?
Yes, perfect binding is probably most appropriate but you could experiment with section binding or using book tape binding.
Should all the type be restricted to a grid within the screen dimensions?
Not necessarily but could the type or a character be manipulated to communicate the concept in a more visual way.
Do you think embossing/debossing would be effective and fitting of this publication?
It could work on the cover as it relates to the initial concept.
Feedback received enabled me to see if my design decisions were appropriate and fitting of the concept. Feedback highlighted how the black was fitting and somewhat engaging due to the generic association that humour books often use bright colours. Feedback also revealed how perhaps this may be too in your face to fit the morning after theme. This also helped me to consider further developments to type, layout, stock and binding. I can now interpret considerations I hadn't perhaps thought about.
TO DO
- Could colour be interpreted in some way to some of the type could you use a fluorescent or neon acetate.
- Could letters or elements of the type be manipulated on the text side and clear on the hangover tip side. ( Faded text - clear hangover cure.
- `Research Wolfgang Weingart typography.
