SB1 Evaluation

As mentioned screen printing worked well as this process was more fitting of the concept than digital print. The use of my own photography successfully uses imagery in a personal way. The use of personal objects, shoes strengthens this concept further. The colour and choice of stock harmonises with all elements of the design. This is also fitting of my own personal style, fitting of the concept. Feedback received also highlighted the design was successful in visually demonstrating the concept.

Given more time for development perhaps experimentation with other shades of pink could change the way the map was viewed. Due to the choice of colour and objects, or shoes used as imagery the map would perhaps be more appealing to a female audience. The abstract approach to the design does however make the map appealing to a broader audience.

The design itself effectively considers the elements surrounding mapping as the abstract aesthetic aims to interact and engage an audience. As the design is focuses on a personal approach minor changes to colour could make the design personal to a wider audience. Other than that the design is very successful and the inclusion of my own photography shows how I as a designer have engaged in the topic. The map demonstrates my knowledge and reflection on both primary and secondary research.

Overall the design works well and the minor adjustments to colour could improve the designs suitability to a wider audience. Other than that the design is successful due to meeting the concept which it was designed for.
