Using alternative forms of media : Photography Induction

All SLR and DSLR cameras work on the same principles 

Green sensor captures the light 

Change lenses to suit the situation and subject 

Step 1: Re-set the camera 
Set the mode dial to P for program mode to re-set the camera. Then Press menu clear settings then press set button.

Step 2: Format the card - removes everything from the card such as settings images or anything on the card. Reduces the risk of corrupt files. Turn auto rotate off to get a bigger preview.

Step 3: Set the image quality and file type 
Raw file best quality but you need to process it. Mostly select highest quality jpg in image quality menu. Gives the highest quality image without using raw.

Modes 


Creative Auto Mode (CA)
This setting allows us to control aesthetics and alter background blur. Creative mode can be accessed by pressing the ‘Q’

Flash settings:  auto, built in flash on, built in flash off 

Adjust ambience : select standard setting e.g brighter adjust the bar selection. Offers creative control 

Automatic mode : good on bright day where everything is relatively well lit

Cool mode  : fashion editorial themed photography

Monochrome mode : Black and White

Background blur : 
Left - background blurry 
Right - background sharp 
Can be used to highlight or isolate object or subject. 


LED Light Set-up 


- Light stand set up parallel with the floor and adjust the tightener to hold in place.
- After adjusting the height connect the power supply cable 
- Dimmers can be dialled in to select and match ambiance light, to use in addition of existing light. 
- Diffusers can create hard and soft light 
- Barn doors (light doors) can focus the light 
- Colour gels can be used to create coloured lighting
